The race tune is fine for D/D. I switch back and forth between the per and race tune. The A/F ratio on the race tune is about 12.7-12.8:1.

None of the tune files that we send out will "lean out" your car beyond a point of safety, or cause engine/transmission issues. However, the vehicle WILL do as it's told, and much of the torque reduction has been eliminated in order for the car to deliver power better.

While we have customers who have been running this style tune for hundreds of thousands of miles, it's about how the driver operates the vehicle. If you go to the track every weekend, you may have tranny issues in 60,000-100,000 miles. If you drive it like a grandmother, you could die in that car with an original transmission. It's all how you treat it.

And yes, the Race tune is very jumpy. This is why we don't recommend it for daily driving. Doesn't matter, we still get threads complaining about our tune being too jumpy for daily driving, and then they say "oh well it is the race tune, should I try the performance?". Figured I'd still chime in!

Good luck! Let us know what you think!

The like the newer, revised Am/Bama race tune. The older race tune was jumpier and w/4.10s could be a little bit of PITA in parking lots.

it seems over-dramatic but it is the truth. before i bought it i thought they were just trying to make the car seem fast, but when i loaded the race tune, it DOES make it try to jump from a stop and its a lot easier to spin the tires. the throttle response is very touchy. but once you get used to it, its fun

thanks for all the input, i can now flash to the race tune with peace of mind. chris, would you happen to know rough estimate performance figures between the 3 tunes? or is it more just a change in throttle response with roughly the same power output?
