Usually, battery terminal corrosion like you describe is due to the battery offgasing and the gases escaping at the location of the buildup. Try cleaning it up with water and baking soda, dry everything well and put it back together. If it happens again you're probably in need of a new battery.
Some folks here were able to get their Ford dealer to pony-up (no pun intended) a new battery under warranty.

corrosion around battery terminals is from an acid leak at that point. As Nuke said, you can clean it with some warm water with some baking soda in it. I've had some success with the felt washers. As Nuke said, if it keeps coming back, it's new battery time.
Clean with THIS then....
CRC Battery Terminal Spray has kept the
blue fuzzy corrosion away for about 2 years now.
Any reputable parts store has it.
Avoid the baking soda cus if one molecule of it
gets into any one of the 6 cells, its T O A S T.
If it can leak acid out, it can let baking soda in.
Overgassing is a by-product of over-charging.
Something else is wrong besides the battery leaking acid/gas...
