Default Hurst short throw dissapointment

Searched the forums and seen one post on this with no answer but i have the hurst competition short throw shifter thats been in for 1500 miles or less on my 2010 and the side to side play is getting ridiculously worse. Any one else have this issue with theirs? Doesnt look like it can be adjusted and its at the pivot point where the play is coming from and no the bolts arent loose. Ive installed many of short throws in various vehicles and this is by far the worst one ive seen for being "Competiton" so called its total crap. Figured id see if anyone had a fix before i let them know what i think.

Have you checked under the car? Mine felt like it was getting a little sloppy, so I checked all my nuts and bolts under the car. (I assume you meant you checked the bolts at the handle) They'd gotten a touch loose, so I tightened them up, and it was back to like new.

I had one in my '06 and had the same issue. Mine was rattling pretty badly as well. I ended up taking it out a few months after putting it in.

+1 on checking under the car. I know a few people including myself with short throw shifters where the nut that attaches the bottom of the shifter to the arm that goes into the transmission came loose.

Check that asap because if it comes off, the arm that goes into the trans can drop and smack the driveshaft which is never a good thing.

Another happy customer here.

The Hurst shifter hardware isn't of much help IMO and the other thing is that you can't be afraid of tightening everything up.

You have to go back and re-tight everything sometimes, that's why loctite can be a pain in that case, if it was used previously...
