Changing plugs...wish me luck!
Supplies
Copy of tsp
Autolite ht1 plugs
Throttle body cleaner
Permatex nickel antisieze
Can of compressed air
Telescoping magnet ...for retrieving plug
3/8 hose for plug insertion
Torquewrench
Cops are off and penetrating lube is soaking. Car has 19k miles. Hopefully this will be uneventful.
Edit..... It took 50lbs of pressure to crack them loose. Very scary! No screechy noise, thankfully..... gonna let them soak longer, just in case.

All came out without breakage......thank God!
Prolly a stupid question but I cannot find the tightening torque specs for the new plugs. Tsb does not state how tight. I went with 30.
Car started up, so far so good.

Good to hear. You might want to bookmark this for future reference.

This one has specs including torques. Spark plugs are 25 ft. lbs.

Good job with that. I replaced the plugs in my 08 just 10K after I got it after reading all of the problems. So did you put the OEM style 2-piece back in or did you go with Champion 1 piece? I went with one piece.
No problems (or stress about it) for teh 12K since.

because of the lack if anti seize on the lower half of the plug, between head and plug below thread, carbon buildup clogs that section and forms a wedge as you try to remove, snapping the plug in half and causing you to trailer your car to a shop and pay a dealer fist fulls of cash to fix your heads. Prevention is much better then the cure.

Ford also sells a tool to do the removal yourself if you feel up to it. People have done it.
I removed mine yesterday and installed some Brisk plugs in prep for a supercharger install. The new ones are on the left, they had around 2500 miles on them. The Ford ones on the right have 18,000 on there and have been removed once prior to this (TSB).
