2005 GT Automatic, Launch Techniques?

^ 808, Did the cams really make the auto sluggish off the line, even power braking it??
that sucks.. no tune fixes that??
I may be getting cams along with an intercooler, pumping out 10 psi.. I don't want crappy off the line performance with cams installed. That'll just be another problem to fix! rofl

your best bet really is getting wider tires. the 235 width stockers aren't even adequate for the V-6 guys
as your car sits right now, tire pressure and power braking are all you can do. hope you have fun at the track. really wish we had one out here so i could see what mine would do.

Your run reconfirms what has been said before....MORE RUBBER is needed!
With my stockers and a tune, I use a combination of techniques so I don't blow up the rubber...
Stage stall up to wheel spin, as soon as the tires break loose release brake and roll into the throttle as opposed to wot. Once you get to wot...pin it! Seems to alow the tires to catch a little quicker at the top end of 1st gear.
Keep in mind im just havin fun at red lights and don't time myself, but I do now the quicker you hook up, the better your times will be.
Nothing a couple of 285's out back won't solve...right!

How do my four low 13 second passes at all confirm that "more rubber is needed"? I wasn't spinning at all. I was real pleased with 13.27 out of an automatic '05 GT coupe with two modifications and was fine with a 1.98 60' on 5 year old, 235 series street tires.
I need more rubber for the street- but at the track the car did great on the Pirellis.

I have an '06 GT auto, I have a tune/CAI, and at the time, 3.73 gears, GT 500 LCA's, and I ran on stock 17" Pirelli's. I would just keep it at 1800-2000 rpms, and when its time to go, just let off the brake and floor the gas! My best was 13.1 @ 105, and 60 ft's between 2.00 and 2.02 ( I also went around the burnout box) Usually by the second run the tires felt better, on the first run its kinda scary!
