Exclamation Cant decide what mustang to get!

hi im new to the forum. im in the marines and will be deploying to afghanistan within the month. When i return home i plan on spending all my deployment money on a mustang lol, but need some opinions on which model and year to buy. my 2 strongest bets are either a 2003 SVT Cobra, or a new 2011 GT. im open to anything anyone has to say.

buy an 11 GT. Why buy a used mustang, all your getting is someone elses abuse and burnouts.

My best advice would be to drive the ones you're interested in and go from there. Still love my 05 GT after having it almost 4 years. Depends on what you're looking for in a car and how you plan to use it. 300hp is plenty for me but I'm not a racer, mines just a street car. Stay safe over there and thanks for your service.

Ok thanks for the input guys. I guess my best bet would be to test drive both. Although I did see where ford racing put about 8k into the terminator and made 690 hp. Thank you for supporting our troops.

I personally say get an '11 GT, you will not regret it. Tons of power stock, and with mods, a total beast.

But whichever car you get, for gawdsake, please don't do this to your car:

Haha well I'm not into the whole fast and furious scene. A mustang is the last car I would rice up. But if I did get the 11 gt I would keep it stock until the warranty ran out. Or if that ford racing supercharger they are offering (that doesn't void the warranty) is in my price range I might just get that.

I also vote for the 11. I got my mustang in part by some of my post deployment savings a few years back. Semper fi and take care over there.

How about a classic 87-93 foxbody stang? Very cheap to mod and getting harder to find...

Hey Meanman,

Thanks.....

I recommend you take a photo of an '11GT and tape it to your bunk.

When you get back, go for a test drive and you'll be hooked.

6-speed w/brembo.

If you like music, save a few extra rations for the electronics package.

Be safe!
