Ive been meaning to ask this for some time, while driving if the sun light hits a certain spot onto my tachometer I notice an up arrow "cutout" for lack of a better word (like the open door or wrench lights). it just under the 3K and 4K rpm marks, and slightly above the needle base. The car is an 07 GT manual with the pony pack and the 4 gauge base cluster. Is this just in place if I wanted to add a shift light later on?
Unfortunately I am unable to capture it in pictures so i hope I described it well enough let me know if any clarification is needed.
I am not sure why anyone would want to, factory shift lights tend to suck.
Agree, you would have to look down at it while racing to see it..... The point of the big glaring shift light is so you do not have to look down. I have my annunciators on my interceptors in my C-pillar and even those are hard sometimes.
ya, there is a stock light there. there has been a few threads about it. I dont know why it was installed. but nobodys has been installed to work either.
big thanks on supplying the pic Danz! good to know that im not the only one who has noticed it. I might actually look into making it function if I do achieve this ill make sure to let you all know.

I wouldn't waste the time or effort. Shift lights are the most useless idiot light on a dash. And most are timed for economy, so they come on about 1500-2000 rpm to early.
Except in the 2010/2011... They come on right at red line... Have to say the first time I saw that I thought it was pretty cool. Its pretty hard to miss when the whole tach turns red.
