It's funny you said that haha.
Actually I am on pain meds from an injury lol.

When I talked to this person I was thinking he was missing a few screws or something.
I thought for a minute maybe he was talking about putting in different engine mounts at the same time that for some reason caused a small raise in height.
It makes NO physical sense that cams could raise engine height. I am well aware of that.

I may have misunderstood what he said because I know he also was talking about
when he had his cams and long tubes installed at the same time.
I know you lift the engine for the long tubes and I bet that is what he was
talking about and I was just getting confused by his fast talk and my medicated ***
lol.

Let the joking continue though.
I asked for it with this kind of post.
Regardless of how goofy I was at the time of the conversation.

No worries. In almost 3000 posts you're bound to make a few dumb ones . I know I certainly have.

I can see the head height rising, but only if something really radical is done.

For example, let's say you made an infinitely variable valve actuating device so you not only get cam phasing that TiVCT gives, but you also get infinitely variable lift so you can benefit from more power and even better efficiency at low RPMs and when you step on it, you get max lift for the cam profile and get that high end max power.
Such a modified valve actuating device I could see could take up alot of room under the hood.

Of course, to even have such a device mounted to your heads, you would probably have to extensively modify you heads too. Drilling new bolt holes, and if you have to relocate the cam, you would have to basically machine new heads from a fresh uncut billet.

If the old cams that were replaced were left on top of the intake manifold it would appear to make the engine higher!!!
