Default Install complete!

I had a few days off from work for the holidays and a few extra parts in the garage, so I thought I'd finally tackle the install for everything the car was waiting on.

So starting Tuesday, and finishing Thursday, myself and a friend managed to install a Steeda CAI, CMDPs, MSD cops, FRPP 4.10 gears, and a custom tune from Brookspeed. We did all of this in my garage, and only needed to make two trips to Harbor Freight for tools we didn't have...

All in all the install went great, considering this was the first unsupervised set of gears that either of us have ever done. I've managed to put about 200 miles on the rear since then (holy crap, I know) and I can say that aside from the most slight whine on decel (only around 55-60 mph) the gears are silent. I couldn't be happier, the car feels amazing, and I saved the better part of $1000 putting everything on myself. So Merry Christmas to all, as I have had a happy one myself with the install going well (thank God!).

Oh and I want to send a special shout to Brookspeed for working with me on the tune and helping me get everything I wanted out of the car and more. Eric is a good guy and knows what he is doing, and answered all my emails (even on Christmas Eve). Added bonus because he tunes for the Diablosport tuner.

Just wanted to let my fellow MFers know that Christmas was awesome this year!

Congrats on the install. Gears is the only mod I did not do. I too had a slight whine on decel but it went away.

Yeah, having done it myself now I'm way more apt to try it again... My next axle project will be on my buddy's truck who helped me, he has a 72 blazer that's getting the full treatment: gears and lockers, front and rear. So by the time I get finished with that, I should be pretty darn good at it....
