Default 05 GT headers

new to site just bought an 05 mustang gt, not to familiar with them im used to my lifted f-250 but this one caught my eye and i love it.
performance wise i have already installed:

BBK throttle body
c&l CAI
2010 cat back roush exhaust
flashpaq tune

runs great!

my next idea was to change the headers and h- pipe

any suggestions on what sounds good
i have cash but idk about spending 700 on heads

I have heard good things about hooker. BTW its longtubes or dont bother. Pypes are very good and reasonably priced. Install is a major PITA but worth it. Wear gloves and buy a 13mm flexhead ratcheting rench......it'll make your life so much easier. Best $15 you will ever spend. I got mine from brenspeed with a H pipe as well.

Short tubes provide little gains, mainly due to keeping the cats. LT's are the way to go and they really pair up especially well with cams. I was going to tell you the TB is useless unless your FI but with LT's and cams, the TB MAY have some benefit. You'll need to turn off the rear O2 sensors with the LT's.

I am planning on having the Kooks LT and catted H set up installed this Spring, along with Ford's Hot Rod cams. I'm not worried, but was wondering how much louder it is going to be. Should sound good with my AT Flows. Hope the neighbors don't mind.

Long tubes provide greater power gain over shorties. With the long tubes power benefit comes a greater level of noise. There are a plethora of Youtube vids with different brands and styles. Keep in mind, they do not offer as good renditions of what it will sound like in person, OR while in the car.

Yup............with longtubes you gotta muscle car dude. It just sounds deeper, thicker, everything err....

Forget shorties, dont waste your money or effort. Its the same install long or short. If your gonna do all that work, might was well get some power out of it.

The point of headers is for scavenging, shorties don't increase this much over stock logs. Long tubes is the way to go... the only way. If you want cheap crap then you can go Pypes unless you plan on keeping the car for long time then you want to invest in a real header system such as American Racing headers. Unlike cheap Chinese made Pypes that will pit, rust and rot in a few years A.R. will last the life of the car.
