Buying a new 2011 GT
Possibly buying a new 2011 GT, what problems does it have, anything specific I should get and/or shouldn't get. I'm trying to do everything right the first time. All comments and opinions are appreciated.

op, you'll want to read up on the infamous getrag 6-spd tranny issues. i have this transmission and have had no real issues with it but some have had significant problems. there are threads on this forum and allfordmustangs.com regarding the tranny.

Tickets. Downshift to 5th to pass...give it half throttle, and you will be going 100mph by the time you look down at the speedo .
Don't floor it in second either...unless you like fishtailing in traffic
Seriously though, the manual is a little rough around the edges. It's fine if you are driving hard, but feels very unrefined when driving around town.
Other than that, the fit and finish is fantastic.

Yeah, the transmission issue... I noticed the 1-2 shift felt a little rough, but it hasn't gotten any worse, so I won't worry about it until it does. For the next 4 years though I'm going to drive the hell out of it and if it does get worse, it'll still be under warranty. I also just installed a Barton shifter and everything about the shifting feels fantastic now.
I've also read about a TSB for the mechanism that transfers fuel between both sides of the saddle fuel tank. I know the Edmunds.com long term 5.0 Mustang had that problem. I can't recall 100%, but I think the fuel gauge kept showing no less than 1/2 full, but the car ran out of gas anyways....I'm not sure on the specifics but its something to keep an eye out for.
