Default Cam Issues

Just installed ford racing cams and after the tune it idles from 500-1200 until the car gets to normal temp then the idle smooths out. Also when I coast to a stop light the idle surges from 500-1200 till i come to a stop and then it idles fine. is this normal or can this be fixed, any input would be great thanks

You maybe able to lessen that with another tune but I don't think it's all going to go away, from what you're describing sounds pretty normal to me.

Sounds like a tune issue. A good tuner will take care of that.

After I installed ****** thumper cams and a procharger I had a local tuner give me a start up tune to get it to is shop. The car would not idle so he made a few adjustments but they weren't helping. He told me to get the car to his shop and he would tune it no problem. I called the place I bought the procharger from because they also tune and tried a couple tunes from them, no better. I then drove the car to the local tuner were it sat on his dyno for an hour and half while he tried to get it to idle. He then said it never takes him this long their has to be something wrong with the car, since I installed the cams myself I started thinking that I screwed up the timing when I installed them. A friend told me to give Jon Lund a try before I spend the money to have my car taken apart. It idled on the first tune he sent me.
