Hey guys im new 2 this stuff. I'm looking at getting slp loudmouth catted x pipe exhaust i guess that's what they are calling it. and would appreciate any onions and links you want to send me for buying it, also i need some help on choosing headers and intake.

I have SLP headers, catted X pipe, and loudmouths (like I mentioned on your other thread). Definitely a nice idle, and you will have that backpressure pop sound you mentioned you wanted. My setup does trumpet some though (would trumpet more if I had no cats).

Cats are catalytic converters. Required to pass emissions tests (if you're in a state that requires emissions testing. The loudmouths won't have cats, you can buy their X pipe with or without cats. IIRC the x pipe (catted or not) has to be mated to the SLP long tube headers. If you get long tubes you're really going to want to get a tune though, I have the SCT X3 from American Muscle, works great, and you get free Bama tunes for life.

So the SLP Loudmouth's are the axle-backs. Those sound really really nice, and if you keep catalytic converters (cats), they won't bee TOO loud or raspy. We keep them in-stock, and they're a very popular option for the 05+ Mustang!

Then, there's the X-pipe. The x-pipe you can either get with cats or without cats (off-road). These are the catalytic converters, which are required for emissions in some states (depends on where you are, some states/counties don't have emissions). The off-road x-pipes make a little more power, but sound a little louder and raspy. The catted systems are still emissions legal, sound a little better, and still pick up a good amount of horsepower from the factory catted H-pipe.

These brands do not need to match. You can get say... a Magnaflow X-pipe with a Borla or SLP axle-back. They're all designed to work with stock diameter piping 2.5", unless otherwise noted. You can also listen to soundclips vs. stock over on our website!
Keep in mind, we also price-match, too. And we ship same-day for free! Hope this helps, feel free to give one of our Mustang experts a call if you have any questions at the toll free number/hours in my signature!
