Default Buying an '08 GT with 54K miles?

Hey guys, I found my ideal Mustang GT when looking around online today. The dealer price is listed at $18,500. The car looks like it's in excellent condition and I'm sure I could talk them down a bit on the price. My only issue is, I know I've seen similar '08 GT's for similar prices with 20-30K miles. Is it worth buying a Mustang with that many miles on it?

I think you have answered your own question. There are better deals out there. When you are looking for a used vehicle just be patient. You know what color, interior and options you are looking for. It also comes across to me that you know something is not right with this one. The one you are looking for is out there and you will find it. Do not get caught up in the "I have to have one now" fever. You will regret it. Good luck!!

If you can get him under $16k and the car checks out otherwise, I'd seriously consider it.

I agree with mapitts...I have been looking for a stang for over 8 months, and just have been recently looking for a GT due to a low insurance quote...It takes time man, but once you compare the GT with 54k to ones with 20k , you can find one with 20k just about the same price with digging around.

Im curious to the pricing, because I have seen a couple GT's in my area at dealers for around 20k, hoping to spend about 15k max but I am curious to see how much the dealers are willing to fall on those prices these days.

you answered your own question IMO...when i got my 07 she only had 19k miles and i got her for $19k...if you've seen them at similar or cheaper with lower miles, then go for those...if this mustang has all the options you want, then like nuke said, talk em down and make sure it checks out

What is a realistic price for it? It's located in another state, 3 hours away, so I'm waiting for them to e-mail me pictures of the undercarriage. They said there's very little rust at all and it has all the options I want. Also waiting on the Carfax, but he did tell me it's had 2 owners.

From the prices I have been seeing man, that is actually a good deal.Every one I have looked at here in IL with those characteristics are well over 22k. Im test driving an 06 GT thursday with 22k miles listed $16,995, best deal I have seen on a gt in 3 months
