What's your opinion?
Now I'm not going to be getting another stang anytime soon really, probably in around a year or so. But I'm still looking around and seeing what different ones cost and such. Right now I have an 03 v6 coupe, and i must say i like the body style of the new edges quite a bit and always have, but if there is any of you who have owned both a new edge and an s197 i would like your opinion (or even if u havent had a new edge ur opinion is welcome) which model do you prefer? I will be getting a gt either way btw

I love the exterior looks of the '05-'09 S197. With that being said, I now own a '10 ( new edge?? ). The exterior has grown on me, and yes that includes the back end. To me I love the aggresive look and stance of the front end. I like the way that the back end sort of "flows up" to give it a look of the rear is taller than the front. The interior look, fit and finish is also better to me. When it all boils down to it though, I love the SN95, S197, and "New Edge" platforms.

i currently have a 2000 GT and a 2007 GT.
i like both.
the S197 of course is 3v and has more HP, and responds a little better to mods.
the S197 is smoother riding, and more comfortable.
I would love to have a Terminator or a GT 500.
I think the biggest difference is the price. if you can afford the S197, then you should get that.
but the NE is not that far behind. a Terminator is an awesome Mustang, best bang for the buck IMO.
but you said you are getting a GT either way. so again, its the money thing, get what you can afford.
the S197 has more creature comforts and electronic do-dads. but if you only care about performance like me, then it really doesnt matter.
a modded NE is hard to beat too.
if you can afford it, get both!

SN95 is 94-95 cars (hence the 95 in the SN95)
And my best bud had a 06 gt before he traded it for a termi, and i will say they have alot more room in them and sound really mean. And they do have more hp stock than a new edge gt.
With that sad i also feel that new edges are more sleek looking personally, and i have always liked that body style
Also in reference to the mention of a cobra, it wouldnt be out of the question, it just depends on how much money i can save up here in about the next year and if i can find it for the right price

before i got my 07, i was looking for a NE.
i couldn't find one that i liked, so i got the 07.
but i still wanted a NE bc i like that body style and the sound.
i kept looking and found one with a lot of bolt ons, good condition, for $5k and i jumped on it.
with the money you save by buying a NE, you could mod it and give some S197's a good race.
