Considering an axleback exhaust for GT
Considering the Ford GT500 axleback or the Ford Touring version. The Ford Touring versions seem real expensive but also has a different sound. Dont want to wake up the neighbors but would like a slightly deeper sound than factory. Any opinions would be appreciated.

i put the gt500's on my car and have been very pleased. i, like you, wasn't looking to rattle windows and get my neighbors out of bed in the morning but wasn't satisfied with stock. these puppies worked out great and were very reasonably priced.

Ordered the GT500 axlebacks today from LateModel Restorations. Sound clips on youtube sound good and at $270 shipped it seemed very reasonable. Hope to have them installed next weekend and also unhook that damn skip shift before I rip out the shifter from the tranny.

I have the touring and they sounds pretty good. Not very loud inside but still gives a low rumble from behind the car. I like loud and I would say these are quiet, you really can't go that loud with the stocks cats. I have gone through several different combos and with the stock cats on you can go two ways. Normal muffler = quiet but still rumbles and stinger mufflers (louder but nothing too loud). The best mufflers for the money in my opinion are the pypes axle-backs. If you want a little louder go with the Borla Stingers or Roush. You really can't go wrong with a chambered muffler.
