Thinking about trading

Thinking about trading
My 07 for a 11 or new 12
How much do dealers go down from MSRP, never purchased new?
My 07 has 43K several small bolt ons and a few body parts. Leather and Shaker with a 5 speed.
What are you guys buying, trading and seeing this one go for? I owe 17K wondering if I will get close on trade.... Should I retail it, if so, remove parts?
For those who have traded up to a 5.0... how do you like it? Worth it?
Thanks for the input.

if you want to see any value from those mods back, you'll have to put it back to stock and sell them separately. people simply don't pay more, and dealers surely don't pay more, for modified cars.
you'll have to decide what's right for you - earn a bit more on your car by selling privately or save some hassle by trading in : ) not sure what your car is worth in your area, but you can use kbb, edmonds, and craigslist comparables as tools to get a good idea. good luck!

Ive driven just about every generation of mustang there has been and never liked any of them really. I drove a '12, and you see whats in my sig..
As far as price goes, right now is a great time to buy a 12. 2500 cash back, or 1000 cash and 0%i financing. The msrp on mine was 38500ish. I paid 31500 after the $1000 rebate.

I felt extremely lucky to get 19k for my 07 GT Premium when I traded it almost two years ago and it only had 7k miles on it.
I love my 5.0 and going from an '07 to an '11 was night and day in every aspect (not just the power)
Unfortunately now I'm itching for either a '13 GT or a '12 GT500.
I can make you a good deal on a 2011 GT/CS with 8k miles on it...

I like it, i say its worth it. I'd wait for a 2013 though, they get the same better pistons as the boss mustang and other parts, and an 8hp bump (likely in tuning) I'm betting you wont get any #8 issues in the 2013s.
I traded my '07 in on the '12 and I'm enjoying it... although I would have had my '07 paid off now and would be looking at f/i... oh well... oh, and i owed 9k on my '07 with 27,000 miles on it when i traded it in, got 6,000 towards my '12.. and because i have x plan pricing i got my premium 2012 for 31k, 24.5k total financed.

With 43K miles, pay the car off and enjoy many years of driving ahead.
If you really want a new one, get a 12 when the 13s come out. You can usually get a pretty good price off sticker when dealers want to get rid of those last couple old year vehicles.

At this point, knowing what I know I would not recommend anyone buys a 2011 or 2012 mustang. They have an engine issue, it only happens on maybe 1-2% of cars, but that is a risk I would prefer not to take with such an expensive car. Although I am risking it with modding my car.. crossign my fingers everytime i drive it. looks like the 2013 models are correcting it with the powder coated pistons. My guess is I wont do anymore mods and i'll just wait for the next chassis to come out, give those 2-3 years to get bugs worked out and get one of those next. or I'll say screw it, get a supercharger for it and see how long it lasts... it should hold 650whp and that is plenty for the street.
and as others have said, as much as you owe you are upside-down, you will have to finance part of what you owe on the new car, probably up to 2,500-5,000 will go on the new loan depending on condition and options on your 07.
