Default slicks??

anyone have any oppinions on putting slicks on a 05 gt... no drivetrain mods or suspension mods... will anything break?? will this solve wheel hop?? i ask this cause i have some sittin right here... and i think that the reason the new stangs are so slow to have 300hp is because of the 60ft times... which arent "up to par"...

True slicks, Yes, you'll break some things...the carrier after a few passes and will eventually tear up the clutch. The wheel hop can be cured with aftermarket lower control arms and/or an adjustable upper 3rd link.

169 stang is kinda right. The stock controll arms flex, which causes wheel hop. But I may argue the 8.8 breaking the carrier from useing slicks. You will need a gabbier clutch than stock. And the driveshaft will be the weakest link. The 8.8 has been in stangs and trucks for a very long time now and is a fairly reliable rear end. If you are bone stock then slicks won't damage anything and will hook you up fine. If Brent from Brenspeed is around this site hope he chimes in, he runs slicks with a modified 2005. Should be able to offer a great opinion.
