Default Pyres or Kooks x-pipe catted?

so i have been hearing a wierd noise for about a week from the left header, took it to a local shop. Turns out a flush break header bolt needs to be tapped and header cracked i was quoted for about $1500 worst case $2000.

that was the first person i went another guy was much better priced works on mustangs alot. So i figured if im spending this kind of money im just going to replace the exhaust system i was interested in Kooks x pipe catted , or Pyres x pipe ?

is kooks realy top quality like im hearing $1500 for the combo on americanmuscle is what im looking at

Yep...I can vouch that while Kooks are alittle more expensive they are definately a quality product. I went with Kooks Long Tubes (ceramic) and Catted H-pipe about 4 years ago and have had absolutley no problems whatsoever, And, they still look as good as the day I put them on...!!

Any reason you didn't consider ARH?

Canesguy01, Sorry to hear you have to go through all this to begin with! I know how it is when something unexpected breaks "forcing" you to upgrade haha.

Like mentioned above, Kooks makes an awesome quality product. You'll be very happy with the power, sounds, fitment, and structure of their header. Having a ceramic coated exhaust truly does keep it always looking new! ARH, also makes an excellent product. The main reason I would chose Kooks over ARH is simply the cheaper cost.

Let me know if there's anything I can do for you. I'd be glad to help you out!

Cost isn't going to be very different between the 2, and it looks like the Kooks don't include any hardware, and the ARH do. And lets face it, at the end of the day you're spending $1,200+ on headers and midpipe.

Personally, because I have them and installed them, I would go with ARH over Kooks because they are actually a true longtube header. Also, as I found out last weekend, front O2 replacement takes 2 min, haha!

Only issue with ARH, is AM doesn't sell them. And this is not to bash, therefore it's obvious why AM would push Kooks over ARH.

Any way you go you'll be happy.

Default headers

I just put a set of Kooks l/t with catted x-pipe & they sound & look great! also had them Jet Coated & they came with all hardware for 1200.00 including coating. The only problem i have is the car will not pass emissions with the cats from Kooks! I had it tuned by VMP Performance & it still wont pass & everyone blames it on the cats!! If you have emissions where you are i would keep the stock cats just for emissions purposes. Good luck with your new headers, they will look & sound great!!
