My point was, I've got a lot of miles under my belt and I haven't blown anything up. It's stable. Is that not was you were originally asking?

I have had my saleen for two years and over 10000 miles. With street duty and some strip duty. Everything is A ok. I'm going forged this winter so I can have that 550 to the wheel or at least get close

Generally speaking the motor is good to about 450-500 depending in your tuner. I believe the tranny is good for around 550 to the wheel but I'm not real certain about that. If u stay at 450 u will be fine. Just get a saleen, whipple or another supercharger capable of your numbers.

If you are looking for a blower, CAI and intercooler, buy the Whipple HO kit and call it a day. It comes with everything you're looking for plus a dual fuel pump kit and makes over 500 hp on the canned (extremely conservative) whipple tune that comes with it.

Generally speaking people say 450whp is a good safe number for these engines/transmissions, hitting 500whp a lot of people have blown up. But it does depend on the tune, there was one that blew at 400whp. Some people are running over 500whp without a problem, some of it is just luck and manufacturing differences, as the guy with the 400whp was running the same tune many others were running so it should have been fine.

If money could be an issue and you can't afford $5,000+ for a new engine. (or are they $3000 now?) Id just run a Whipple with a 10psi pulley, should put you close to 450whp, no other modifications needed. If you feel like you can afford to live dangerously then you can up the boost, do some other mods and hit 500whp. also 500whp puts your transmission at risk, it might hold up, it might not, 450whp is safer for the automatic transmission.

Whipple would be my choice for superchargers, followed by Saleen, then Kenne Bell, finally a paxton or vortech. first 3 are twinscrew, other 2 are centri.

450 RWHP was the "magic" number that has been tossed around for a long time before it was necessary to go forged and upgrade some driveline components. But if you're not at the strip and not beating it on the street a lot, 500 should be fine.

Unfortunately, with bolt on's and not going FI, your best shot is about 350; perhpas a bit more with some internal work at which point you may as well go FI. And with being FI, you'll need suspension mods or all that power won't hook-up.

If you can't afford to replace a blown motor, then I wouldn't supercharge it at all, there are no guarantees at any power level.

I would keep the rev limiter stock though. You are all ready stressing the rods with all that torque, no sense making them move faster too. I've seen many rods that look like they pulled themselves apart and others that actually bent.

I think ill go with a low psi supercharger, CAI, and Diablo tune it. Maybe throw some headers and an exhaust on it.

Would that be fine, without getting too into it? Like I said, if I can get 450rwhp, ill be fine.
