Default Mis shift over rev, whats the worst that could have happened?

I was on the highway on my way home from work tonight and I decided to open her up. I was in fourth gear at about 6k rpm, went to shift into 5th and my hand slipped and I put into back to third. As soon as I started to release the clutch my tires locked up and the clutch pedal just sank to the floor, I immediately threw into neutral and coasted for a minute until my heart stopped racing. At this point the clutch came back up I put into 6th and continue to drive. The car feels fine but I'm scared I messed it up. Has this happened to anyone? What the worst case scenario? By the way no cel on the dash, does that mean I'm In the clear?

I did it once going from 3-4 but hit 2nd instead. Nothing happened BUT you can do some damage. For now i would just drive as normal and see if you notice anything.

Be glad they aren't interference motors or you'd bent some valves. Seen it multiple times at work with Honda motors.

You probably didn't hurt anything but just drive it and see if anything seems unusual.

If you're worried, I would get an oil analysis on your next oil change and see if they find anything.

There are a few companies that provide oil analysis services. Do a google search to find them. Essentially they send you a kit that includes a vial and shipping material. On your next oil change, you put some of the used oil in the vial and ship it to them. They run an analysis and determine whats in your oil, including various metal particles. It could indicate abnormal wear issues, or damage caused by your over-rev. They usually cost 30-60 bucks I believe.
