Default Ford ESP

Have any of you purchased an extended service plan (extended warranty) AFTER the initial purchase of yor car? I just recently purchased a new to me 2010 GT. The factory warranty is up in January and I have been looking into an extended warranty. I just haven't had the car long enough to figure out any "quirks", and there are some high dollar components to this thing (Nav for one). Haven' had any problems yet,.... but just looking for some piece of mind I suppose. Priced Carchex, and have done some on line looking at the Ford ESP. I'm not sure why some "ford dealers" have given lower quotes than others, the coverage seems to be the same.
Has anyone else looked into doing the same, or have done the same? What were your expierences and such?

I think in the 40 + years that I've been driving and the 8 or 12 new cars that I've bough in my lifetime, I've never purchased an extended warranty nor needed. I hate putting bets down that the car is going to grenade itself. For the cost of the extended warranty, I'd put that $$ into an interest-bearing account and if you need it for repairs, fine. But if not, you have a nice litte wad of $$ to play with later.

Kind of a waste of money.. They usually run a few thousand dollars, which is more than most any single part in the car is worth.. There's really not much to worry about on the 4.6 in stock or lightly modded form. They've been running around for awhile with no issues.. Nav is expensive from Ford, however a standard replacement(updgrade IMO) isn't that expensive.. Just food for thought
