Default Will 305/35-20 nittos nt555r fit on rear? or go with Toyo r888 285/35-20

I have 20X10 TSW 40mm offset rims on the rear of my 2006 GT Conv.

I have H&R race springs that lowered the car about 1.5"

Does anyone know if 305/35-20 Nitto Frag Radials will fit? Nitto says that they will fit the rim, but be a little tough to get on.

If they don't fit I guess I will go with the Toyo R888 285/35-20's. I was thinking the 275/40-20 Nitto is going backwards.

Any thoughts or experience with this?

Thanks.

the 305's will fit. A buddy of mine has 20x10 New shelby rims with that tire mounted no issues at all.

Would you know the offset or the model of those rims? Thanks!

I dont know that off the top of my head, but its the factory 2012 gt500 rims so prolly can find those some where with a simple search.

I think the stock shelbys are 45mm. Mine are 40mm. That's about a 1/4 inch.

I might be too far out then...

This is a 305/40-18 nt555r on 10 inch rims. The springs are Steeda Ultralights which give about a 1.5 in drop.

A 305/35-20 would be approximately .8 in taller (so about .4 inches closer to the fender then the pics. )

I hope this helps.

Thanks for the pics. That is exactly how far out i pictured them.

I am a little worried with the 20's being to close to the fender now.

I will look intothe offset in your rims to compare to mine.

you will VERY likely rub with a 40 offset
45 will be much better and 50 will be your best choice

Are those the Nitto 555r's? Are they that bad for side to side handling?

Would they decently hook up with aprrox 600 rwhp? I figure you have a good amount of rwhp.

if you have 20X10.5 inch rims, they are .5 inch bigger than mine.

With a 45mm offset, your rim sits .25" inward more than mine.

So I think our rims both sit in the same place on the outside by the fender.

It may work... I don't want to buy new rims again...

Thanks Mellow!
