Default Getting to most out of my gt

So heres the deal.

I have a 2006 GT with 112xxx miles. I really want this thing to go faster, but I want to do so in such a way that my engine isn't going to take a dump in 10k miles.

I don't know if i want to supercharge it just yet only because I'm not sure of the state of my internals...

Right now the car has pype bomb axelbacks and a bama tune. I have 4.10 gears waiting to go in.

I wanna get the most out of my motor. I have heard of stroking and boring it and getting all forged internals and getting sleeves put in my engine. I just want to know which direction I should go to get my best bang for my buck.

Goal is 500rwhp.

Or should I just sell it and save for a GT500

If you can afford the gt500, then hell yes. haha.

If not, go to mmr and get a forged shortblock and some cams, lt's, etc. All that with a good supercharger at about 12psi you could hit 500 or so at the wheels im guessing.
At the least i would do it right and forge the internals. do it right the first time so you dont have to kick yourself in the *** later!

If u have a shop like brenspeed do a 302 build for ya. Your looking at 7500 or so. Depending on what supercharger u want your probably looking at another 6k with install. Now u can take your car to 450 or 470 and be safe on your internals. R u the only owner of this car. Have you done all your maintenance that is required. If u have then I see no problem in supercharging. Just get a good tuner like brenspeed. U will want a oil catch can and a catch can for ur tranny fluid as well.

If you want to get the most out of your current engine, then supercharged it now and beat on it till it breaks. With the cost of forged short blocks, it doesn't make much sense to build your current block.

I would not personally supercharge an engine with that kind of mileage on it.

Much over 450 RWHP, especially if you won't baby it, will require forged internals to go with that SC. But 500 RWHP isn't a major problem with the right SC setup. And don't forget the suspension mods and rubber to help put that power down.

With the miles on your car I would just get a new car to work with. Sure your motor may not give out but do you really want to gamble the cost of a supercharger and recipricating mods that it doesnt give out?

So i was talking to a buddy of mine here on base who has a built corvette. He told me I should be good with getting forged rod bolts, port and polish my heads, get a blower, and blower cams. Thoughts on his suggestion, because to me it sounds pretty good.

If you're going through that much disassembly why not tear the rest of the block apart and do a complete rebuild?
