Default Hurst Shifter Loose??

I have recently noticed my hurst shifter is loose. Is it normal to have some play? Has anybody else had their shifter get loose by itself?
I checked the two bolts that attach the stem and **** to the shifter linkage and it was tight. It appears the actual linkage is loose.
Please look at video and let me know what you think is wrong.View My Video

I had that same problem, it would also rattle. I just tightened up the two bolts really tight, and it solved the problem.

I'm not sure if you watched the video but please do. In the video you will see that the movement is not coming from the two bolts that hold the shifter handle to the assembly. It must be coming from bolts underneath the car that I hope aren't hard to get at as I will be underneath the car tomorrow to fix the problem.

Mounting bolts are easy to get to if cars on a lift.

I got under he car today and attempted to tighten up on the linkage bolts but they were tight!
And the shifter is still loose! The part of the linkage that hooks up to the transmission has a lot of side to side play in it while in gear. I tried tightening up on he bolt but couldn't get it any tighter! And it still was loose. I made a video while under the car o show my dad and will get it uploaded later.

That's just the nature of a remote shifter really...there's just more places for there to be play in the shifter and linkage. Mine's like that too but it doesn't really bother me.

If everything is tight then your shifter linkage or your tranny receiver is fugged.
I hope it's the former...
There is no play (or rattles) in my Hurst linkage after 100K miles.

Everything is tight. I got under again today and sent a video to AM.
It was the transmission linkage that developed some play. The guys at AM said it was perfectly normal and I was just finishing the break in period and it shouldn't move any more.
I can live with the side to side movement because it doesn't affect me slammin through the gears....I was just concerned that I may have hurt something; but all is well
