Default Rear axle shudder???

I drove my car for the first time in a week and a half today and a couple miles from home it started to shudder every time I took off from a stop. By the time I got to work it had almost completely stopped. Does this sound like the problem mentioned in the TSP for the whine, chatter, and shudder? What should I do if the problem goes away completely before I can get it to the dealer?

Dave, if this doesn't become an issue that occurs all the time, I would still get them to look at it the next time you being it in for an oil change...sounds like it could be the infamous rear axle whine/shudder issue.

Yeah, I plan on having them look into it if possible but I wasn't sure if they will since they can't reproduce the problem.

Def. have that isue with mine. It makes a banging noise when i let on and off the throttle hard. Its def. not a comforting sound for sure.... the tranny is really loud as well. I have talked to several 05 owners that say the tranny sounds like nails in a can... gotta love it

i have a problem similiar like this, i can can really only here it when i'm first starting the car up and slowly pulling out of my driveway, parking lot or whatever.. but then it disappears, i think it has something to do with the aftermarket exhaust

These transmissions are all, or almost all like that, it sounds like square cut gears in low rpms in first and second. Don't worry much about that, these trannys are supposed to be stonger than the engine internals so you shouldn't have probem with them. I'm speaking of the manual 5 speeds of course.
