Is there absolutely ANY reason an alignment should cost this much?

I'll be at a 3"+ drop in a week, KW Coils will be on soon.
For the second time, on my second Mustang.
Will never pay more than $60 for alignment.

Both shops are getting paid for the same job. F*ck them, go somewhere else. I paid $100 on Maui for state of the art 4 wheel laser alignment and everything in Hawaii cost more. You have options there, drive on.

My local shops charge $80 for a front end alignment. That price you're getting quoted is insane, I would look elseware.

well, you see they use a satellites up in space that co-ordinate together and beam down to your car to get the best possible alignment in the universe. obviously this is better then the ****ty monkey throwing stuff at your car till its aligned at a dealership.....baha

Nope. I'm sitting in a Firestone right now and they charge $79. However, I don't like that price either. Good thing I don't need an alignment.

Some places have a lifetime price. I installed new suspension parts this past week. Took it to Brake Check, a chain here in Austin. Had a choice of a one single alignment for $65 or $69 plus tax or $129 plus tax for the lifetime alignment. Since I knew I would be getting more alignments done, I went for the lifetime cost. I will only get charged $3 every time I go there to get an alignment now for as long as I own the car, which should be forever.

Anything over $70 is a rip off, period (I never paid more than $59 in my town).
Doesn't matter what you've done to the car because either you're within specs or you're not.
If you are, then it's the current price ($70 or lower) and that's that.
If you're out of specs then you need to work on your suspension, an alignment won't fix your out of specs issues so that's that as well.

Also, don't go to a dealer for alignment checks.
A decent tire place is the way to go.

FireStone does a lifetime alignment program for $180 I think. Maybe that's what the other shop is doing. Free alignments as long as you own the car.
