While changing my oil I decided to remove the CAI just to check and see how the tubing was holding up. It's all good, just faded and what not. The heat shield was and is driving me nuts, because I believe it rattles against the various parts in the engine bay, as there is no rubber liner around it...

But anyway, I put it back on, and now when I turn the car off I hear a fairly loud pop-hiss sound coming from the intake. It did not do this before, and I did install the CAI myself about a year or so ago. What am I missing here? The car does not drive any differently than it did before I did this, and I honestly would not notice that anything had changed if this new noise had not developed.

Possible small leak somewhere.

Thanks for the reply. I've taken the thing completely off and put it back on. I'm pretty sure there is no leak, what else could cause this? It's like when I turn the motor off the thing pushes air back out of the intake.

Rubber hose connected to the underside of intake tube? I almost missed it with mine one time.
