2005 GT V8 autimatic transmission lighting problem.

I have 2005 gt v8 4.6L mustang and ita have automatic transmission but the light on it not working. Can I see the problem on car comouter? And does that trwnsmisiin kight have protector sheald on car? Thoes little prottectilors i mean which is in a box close to engine. Is there protrctor for transmision lighter ?
