Default 2001 GT vs 2005 GT

Hey guys i bought a 2001 mustang gt vert auto last winter I like it a lot.
Car is in amazing condition has 90k on it. It has the following done to it:
New Vert top,Bama Tune, BBK Throttle Body Intake Plenum, Flowmaster american thunder cat back, underdrive pullies, K&N cold air intake, All new fluids and spark plugs etc.. Also has all the mach 1 black out trim on it. Here's the deal guys, I might have a chance to sell it for a small profit as i got it cheap, maybe put 2k with it and upgrade to a 2005 gt vert auto, the 05 has about 111k on it, it's seems to be a clean car... otherwise it stock.

My main question is this. I love my current car and was probably just gonna get new wheels and maybe 4.10 gears. How much better of a car is an 05GT?
Is it worth upgrading to? Would it be an upgrade?

keep your car;
the biggest upgrade in '05 is just the interior & the engine is a little more reliable.

The 05 had some issues when they first came out, but after all these years I would say most have been repaired. I have a 05 GT and have not had one issue except for the normal maintenance. The 05 has a better platform than my 01. It also is more comfortable to drive.

You think it's worth the upgrade considering what's done to my car?

You forgot to mention that the '05 GT also has more power, better brakes, better steering, better suspension, a stiffer chassis, more room for rear passengers, plus the quasi 60s fastback bodystyling that will still make people drool 50 years from now.
It's just a better car all round period.

So I've owned a '97, an '06, and '11, all GT's. While the '97 to '06 was a huge step up in every way. I would say to wait until you can afford a Coyote. The '11 makes the '06 feel like a boat. While they are the same chassis, the '11 uses it much better.

11 makes the 06 feel like a boat in what way?

The car feels, like, heavy; but the 2011+s don't have that feel to them.

I'm not sure how the '11 "uses it better". Sure the extra 112hp/70lbft is welcome and adds more straight line speed, but it also makes the car a lot more tail happy and traction on wet roads becomes a real issue.
You could drive the '06 at 8/10 and just about get away with it, whereas the '11 will end up in a ditch even if you drive it at only 7/10. The chassis cannot cope with the extra power and it needs serious suspension/tire upgrades to tame it.
