Default Hurst Shifter Noise

2006 GT 113,000 miles. Had a Hurst shifter put in about 5 years ago. Driven every summer about 5000 miles. Fast forward to 2 days ago and the shifter is moving up and down and making a clicking noise when I go over bumps. Checked the bolts and everything is tight. It seems like the knuckle is wearing out? Not sure if this noise is normal wear and tear. Seems like it shouldn't be but what do I know. Anyway, anyone with Hurst experience know what causes this? Should I be concerned?

Thanks for your help.

My shifter was moving up and down. I just had to replace the red mount bushings in the front and rear. They were really bad. Very obvious.
Check them.

Hurst shifter noise video

Thanks for your help.

My Hurst Billet did exactly that when new. It was made loose for easy shifting. Was play in the ball that it pivots by like I see in your video, if you pull straight up & down, you feel it. I took the **** off, then the two boots, put a hand full of grey Ford Disc Brake Wheel Bearing grease on top of the recess with the ball in it, slipped a piece of plastic bag over it to keep it off the boots, then put the inner and dress boots on. Lastly, I put some silicone in the shifter ****, threaded it down and locked it with the nut. No more noise. In short time, use, it pulled grease into the socket.

My shifter wears an extension, why it looks funny. Raised the **** 1-7/8 inches. The thicker one is 1/4" steel, the thinner one is 1/8" steel. Still way shorter than OEM and not notchy. Got my elbow above the console lid edge too.
