overall you will love the macs
I pulled into a 7-11 the other morning and I gave the engine a little rev just as a Fairfax Police officer was comming out, He looked and smiled I got out and he started by saying "Wow I love that sound of your exhaust" from there I started to show him all my Mods and we talked for 15 min. he now wants a 06 GT I converted a life long "Chevy Man" to the stang... Dam I love the Macs (Except the drone)

the Mac's are more of a Deep Bass rumble, at WOT not as loud as the SLP's but a Deep roar, Turns alot of heads, Some say "is that a Big Block Motor" I just Smile and say Nope Just American Muscle.

I would like share the knowledge I have learned over the past few month doing research on this topic..
If you want the Loudest raspy growl Get SLP's or Bassani's (No Drone)
If you want a loud low pitch growl, thats Corsa or Borla / Steeda (including Ford Racing) (little to no Drone)
If you looking for somthing a little louder and deeper than the stock Muffler, Flowmaster. (some drone)
If you want a medium to low pitch sound and louder than the Flowmasters, Get JBA or Magnaflo (little Drone)
But, If you want the best Low pitch Muscle Car Sound, Get the macs (Drone) with JBA Shorties and Bassani Xpipe (little to no Drone)

IMO the MAC's are the Best sounding exhaust for the 05/06 GT, they give the Mustang a true Muscle car sound.....

From SLP's website, it looks as though the loudmouths eliminate the muffler altogether. If so, when i add the long tube headers and offroad h-pipe does that mean that i will just be running a straight pipe to the back. This concerns me cause that is usually loud enough to ddraw unwanted attention from local police.

Exactly The SLP consists of a mandrel bent 2 1/2 inch pipe and a 16" chrome tip, no baffles

Here are Pics of my SLP LM before I sold them..(Way too Loud)...

Yes the Stock Cats tone them down a bit, if you eliminate them with long tube headers and x-pipe..
OMB it would be twice as loud... I was pulled over in VA and ticketed just with axle-backs,
I think the cops would be impounding your car with the previous configuration...

Has anyone gone with the LoudMouths and H-Pipe "Delete Cats"? If using one without cats, will it still pass a smog test?

Thanks,

Mike

Man I'm getting old, I remember back in the day a set of great mufflers were about $80.00, you complained but bought them. Seems if it says '05 or '06 Mustang GT then you have to pay a premium for every single part you buy. SLP's are nothing but nice pipes and make SLP about 5000% profit, I'm in the wrong business.

Looks like I have my work cut out ofr me in choosing exhaust. I think I am going to go with the MAC's just from this forum. Also I have a question don't these come with an H pipe from the factory?
