Default WMS Cold Air Intake ??

Anybody install the WMS (Western Motor Sports) CAI system - with or without the Ram Air Shield? I'm thinking getting one because I really like its appearance, and it also tests at nearly 25+ horse with the Ram Air Shield. I like the Corvette style, straight shot ahead look. Just curious for any input from those that have it.

Trust me, you will want to tune it.

Head over to TMS, there are a couple of folks over there running it.

Here is a link to a picture to one of the users threads over there that has one
picture on TMS

There is a great article in the december 05 issue of 5.0 Mustang and Super Fords where they rate more than 10 CAI systems with the one you mentioned as one of the tested brands. They liked the design and it did add power, but the installation was difficult (remounting certian things). And it sucks in real hot air when sitting still due to the position ovre the radiator (who will be sitting still!!!). Looks like the C&L was the best for durability and perofrmance (except it's expensive with the Tuner).

I was amazed that most of the CAI added 15-25 RWHP! That's cheap HP. They did a baseline pull with stock filter and then went from there. I dont think they varied the tune except for a general increase in A/F ratio, but I think that was across the board.

I did an install and write up on one over the summer when we developed custom tunes for it. The sytem came with everything needed and it fit well. Once tuned the intake really came alive. Actually no matter what intake you go with the power can almost be doubled, and in some cased more than doubled, when a tune is added.

Has anyone checked out the new Ford Racing CAI for the '05/'06 GT? This kit looks real good in the picture and appears to be one of the few that puts some thought into the filter isolator. It appears to be plastic and is priced right in the low $200 range. Availability begins in 2006. No one appears to have one in stock yet.

'06 Vista Blue GT Premium. All stock while it's hibernating in my garage.

[:@]Whooops. That CAI looks like a valve cover bolt. Check out the FRP CAI at the Sean Hyland Motorsports website.
