Would 4:10s be too much for an automatic?

I run 4:10's in my auto. no problem . If you get
4:10's you will not be disappointed.

I didn't know yours was auto, I was thinking manual for some reason. I probably should have gone with a shorter gear but I had never had 3.73s so I though I would try them out.

how many RPM did the 3.73s add? I'm guessing maybe 200.

no, we have no problems with 4.10s in the SN-95s with the auto, you guys should be able to do 4.30s atleast, maybe even 4.56s if you dont use it as a DD

ok I got some questions about the 3.73 vs. 4.10.....

I have a 2006 GT and of course it's got the 3.55 in the back.....
I can hit 40mph in first at redline, almost 70 in 2nd at redline, almost 100 in 3rd at redline and cruising at 60ish in 5th is just under 2000 rpms....

3.73 owners.....what is redline MPH in 1st, 2nd and 3rd gear and what is rpm in 5th at 60mph ?

4.10 owners.....what is redline MPH in 1st, 2nd and 3rd gear and what is rpm in 5th at 60mph?

Thanks for your help and have a nice time....

I run the auto with 4.10 as well. I also drag the car several times a year. I use a taller 295/45-18 Nitto Street tire to riase the gear a little, then run a shorter tire for the strip. Check out the stance with the Nitto's in the rear. I love the 4.10 gears. The stock tires are 27 inches tall. The Nitto's are 28 1/2" tall. My drag tires are 26" tall so the gears feel shorter on the strip.

Wow! Thanks for the replies! I'm really glad I asked. I was thinking 3.73 would be better. Now I will definitely go with 4.10. Although now I have to admit I'm even considering 4.30. I won't be using it as a daily driver but I still want it to drive nice on the road so I'll probably go 4.10 when I ever get my car. I'm so jealous when I see cars like RICVA05's, man that looks nice! -Joe
