You need a laptop, have to hook it up to the car and the laptop, choose the items you want to monitor and log them. I just tried it out, i choose knock sensor 1 and 2 and it stayed 0.000 the whole run i made. Is that good? i think it is.

ok I got the knock sensors option once I connectesd it to my car.

But on my laptop when it brings up those 5 dials or w/e they are, they stay at 50 and right underneath all 5 it reads no signal.

I don't understand, and the program on the laptop kinda go crazy and I have to ctrl alt del to get out of it.

If you dont have the drivers installed you wont be able to communicate with the xcal

Ok when you choose knock sensor and whatever you want you click ok. Then click the graph at the top left. Now it should list all the selected options on the left. Choose the ones you want, rpm, knock sensor 1 and 2. For the dials to work right click on one at a time, choose signal, then choose which one you want it to show. Now when your ready, click the green icon, and start driving. stop it when your done. Replay it or send it to someone to analyze it. My knock sensors stayed at 0 the whole time, but do hear a mechanical noise at certain rpms. Im starting to think is the motor for the motion plates opening and closing.

well, I got it to work and the knock sensors stayed at 0 the whole time. The little dials moved back and fourth but in the zero range. I suppose that is normal.

This is the first time I have taken my car out today so I put her at full throttle 1st and 2nd gear and heard no noise.

I guess all is good. Anything else I should monitor?

Im not sure, call your tuner and ask what you should monitor and if they can analyze your log to tell you if it is all good.
