Default Question

So I just installed the 93 octane tune with my xcal 2 and I notice a huge difference.

But, there seems to be a wierd noise around 4k rpm and up in first and a lil in second.

The noise sounds like a "hot" wire being moved accross a peice of metal with sparks going off.
That is just what it sounds like and is the best I can describe it.

Thanks

Maybe it's because it is could and the engine is not that warm

Please help me and let me know if it's ok. Thanks again

But is this sound not deep at all. The sound I hear is well, kinda like the little poppers you can buy at a gas station that are those little rocks wrapped up in the tissue paper that you throw down. If you could imagine alot of those being thrown one aftwer the other really fast than that is it.

Thanks

YOUR CAR IS RUNNING TOO LEAN, IT'S NOT GETTING ENOUGH FUEL AND WHAT YOUR ARE HEARING IS THE CAR DETONATING (PINGING). YOU NEED TO CORRECT YOUR TUNE OR YOU WILL EVENTUALLY BLOW YOUR MOTOR.

Kind of tend to agree with 05HOTROD, sounds like you are possibly getting detonation. Might want to swing by a dyno shop and do a verification pull just to see what your A/F ratio is up on top and make sure it is not leaning out.

who did your tune? have you contacted them about this and what have they said? they shoud be able to correct the problem and you should just be able to download the new tune from your cpu via the usb cable.

Assuming you do get an updated tune from your provider, in the meantime you might want to flash your stock tune back to the PCM rather than risk any possible damage from running lean.

well, after running for a day it seems to have stopped.

I got the xcal 2 from brenspeed and I am running a tune for 93 octane with a stock airbox.

Think it is still safe?
I can't really go back to stock tune b/c I have a full tank of 93 octane in it.
