Default Eibach Pro-Kit Noise

Just curious...

I just had the Eibach Pro-Kit installed and noticed the car makes a rattling type noise when going over bumps. Is this normal and should I perhaps install the matching struts and shocks (Eibach Pro-damper or similar) to stop this annoying noise? I could be omiting some additional facts that could be helpful, so ask away if you must. :-)

My car does drive the way I imagined it would though - a good thing.

Did you have poly spring isolators installed or still useing the stock ones. I have heard it may take a little time for the spring to set into the stock cups.

No isolators were installed. Apparently these springs have a rubber coating and the mechanic who did the install says this is normal. He does the mod work for Galpin Motors (one of the biggest Ford Dealers out here). I guess cause I'm annoyed by the noise, it could be normal but it does sound more of a rattling type. IMO I shouldn't have to hear anything... want it to sound like stock (no noise) but with the benefits it is giving me. I'll look into the isolators... :-)

I've got the Prokit and I don't have any noise at all. Have you had the TSB for the strut bearing assembly done yet?

I figure my interior will rattle sooner or later, but definetely not at 768 miles. At least I hope not. The rattling noise is coming from the specific area... more so on the front passenger side then the driver side.

GT Premi... Didn't know there was TSB ... would you happen to have a link for that. Would this be a question though if the noise wasn't there prior to the springs being done???

I'm with you on the car looking meaner!!!!!!!!!![sm=badbadbad.gif]

GT Prem, was this what you were talking about? If so, mine is an 06. Couldn't find another TSB that closely resembles my symptoms. Or is there yet another?

Yep. That's the one I was talking about. Didn't realize you have an '06.

You're probably hearing the bracket behind the airbag rattling. I believe we all have that or will have it eventually. I only had it occasionally until I installed my springs. Now I get it a lot more often. Took it to the dealer and, wouldn't you know it, it didn't make a peep. They wanted me to wait until it got worse so they can hear it. It mainly happens when the weather is warm. Might take it in again this weekend to see if it does it.

So after some careful listening and with the help of a friend and his ears, we've concluded something is loose on the front passenger wheel. The noise is unique and I'm willing to bet the mechanic will have to fix/redo the spring. It almost seems as if a bolt is coming loose and thus producing a more rattle type of sound then a clunk/clunk type. Needless to say, the car still handles remarkably sick!!!

I agree I have a prokit on my 05 V6 5 speed, and I love the way it handles after the kit.
