Default mpg?

I installed the xcal II 87 Octane tune from brenspeed last Wednesday. Absolutely love the throttle response and added power!!! It's like a new machine. AWESOME!! However; before the tune with just the K&N CAI I was getting on avgerage 19.5mpg. I just now have gotten through the first full tank of gas with the tune and the mpg is down to on avgerage 18mpg. I've talke to Brent at brenspeed and he said he has have people gain as much as 1.5mpg and some lose and he couldn't do much about it. Granted I did alot of goosing around at first but I've yet to see it jump above 18.4 with alot of flat interstate driving. Anybody out there with a similar setup seeing any gains or similar losses?

Thanks in advance

With my mods and an auto, I get 16 around town and 23 on the highway. I also have a 93 octane tune. Your mileage sounds pretty good. My computer says 17.xx.

Um, yeah...I haven't seen 16mpg yet in the city,I'm stuck on 15.8. Hwy doesn't count since I'm doing 120mph average. [sm=icon_rock.gif]

Thanks for the info guys. I was just curious. Anyway, it's not like I bought the car for it's great gas mileage.[8D]
So far the computer has fluctuated from 18.4 on the interstate to and from work to back down to 18 when i'm playing around in town. I agree still pretty good mileage for the power

LOL. Yeah, she's only two months old with almost 3K on her. I hear that after some miles the MPG starts improving...but if not, who cares. Took a trip to Belgium a few weeks ago and avg about 130mph there and back and got about 18mpg. Not too bad considering the speed.[sm=gears.gif]

I'm on 17.4 mpg right now. I can drive with my foot out of the throttle and average right at 20. But I have much more fun averaging 17 mpg.

hey slak,

your mpg moves that much? i tried the "out of throttle" and the "goose and go" method on seperate tanks and they were only seperated by maybe only about .5mpg. Different cars; different results i guess. I agree with you though, there's nothing better than unleashing the power
