timing question
Already posted this in the SVT section but i thought i would throw it in the this section as well in hopes of getting a few more replies.
I have a 96 cobra which i just had the bottom end rebuilt on in preparation for upcoming fored induction system but i had the compression lowered to 8.5:1 in stead of the stock 9.85:1 and i have the xcalibrator2 progammer that would allow to adjust the timing +/- 5deg. every 2000 rpm and i am still running premium gas in it so would it be advisable/possible to get a little more out of the engine by playing with the timing and if so can someone suggest a new set of timing #'s for 0-2k rpm, 2-4k rpm and 4-6k rpm that would maybe give me a little more oomph without jeopardising the engine in any way.
Thanks

If your running a 93 octane tune I would keep it at what SCT has it at. You can probably pull some more hp out of it if you advance it but it could be dangerous especially if you get some bad gas. SCT dosn't have the timing maxed to keep it safe in case of variables like this. If your going to the track I would advance it 1-2 degrees and then put it back for the street.
