I think the term "CAI" is somewhat of a misnomer in this case... It's true that it doesn't get THAT much more cold air but what these devices do is open-up intake "piping". By simply lessening intake resistance (larger, more streamlined intake area) you could potential gain some power, to an extent.

I had a k&n . Took it off all it did was look good. They should call it a hot air intake instead. Use a high flow flat with stock filter and you will be much happier. The factory airbox gets cool air from inside fender note form the heated up engine compartment air. Most people don't admit that the mod they did did not work. If you do k&n filter or similar type of cai get ur hands on a thermometer and put in the factory airbox. Take for a spin . Open box record heat. Then when you have k&n or any similar type cai do the same thing and you will be shocked at the difference in temperature between the 2

I've been considering the no tune Airaid CAI. They claim 17hp/21tq gain which is right inline with the no-tune-required K&N according the the 11 CAI test/comparison. They have it made where you can take out the "venturi" for an even greater gain but then you need a tune. I've seen it from about $280.

Do these intakes remove the whistle present with the factory air-box? I like the whistle. TIA

There is a hole in fender wall that the air intake goes into not just up against it . Loook at the pic. When i did the roushcharger it came with a bigger intake
