Anyone else having problems with their Shaker system?
I have the Shaker 500 system and mine seems to be screwing up on me alot. For one it wont read disc's in slot 5 but they work everywhere else and then the other day, i was driving and i noticed that my stero was on but no music was coming out. I had to stop at a red light, cut off the car, wait 10 seconds and turn it on to get the stero to work. Anyone else have this problem?

Mine sometimes will be playing a CD normaly, then on a new track it will act as if it's playing normaly but there will be no sound. Or in other cases it will randomly eject a cd and say it's bad; even tho it's played it before and will play it perfectly fine if i stick it right back in. [:@]

RE: Anyone else having problems with their Shaker system?
My 2005 V6 coupe, bought 2 months ago, has had 3 Shaker 1000 systems put in. The first one jammed and read "CD Error" after just one week. The second one would not light up at night, though it played fiine. The third one is doing fine, and as long as I have a warranty, I will keep Ford's feet to the fire to replace it again and again, if need be. It is made by Delphi.
You can run a simple diagnostic test:
While the radio is playing, simultaneoously hold down station buttons 3 and 6 for a few moments, and then release together. The radio will run a brief diagnostic test of each speaker and other stuff, and will end with the station display window reading a message that either says "System Pass", or "System Fail" with a long code of numbers representing some type of specific problem. A local Ford dealership service department won't probably care what your failure code is, because they will just want to replace the whole unit. But, they can't really fix the broken unit anyway.
Goood luck -- I know its frustrating.

What Delphi might have done is payoff the Ford exec who decided that if we got the cool leather seats we had to get the POS Shaker systems!
If people like us ran Ford, we be able to have any aftermarket system factory installed! Including Sirius! We'd get Ford out of the RED in one year!

I've had mine replaced once and it still will play reverse at rare times meaning it will play a part of a song over again. I've tried to get Ford to replace that
one and they told me I had to prove it.

The problems of the Shaker stereo's have been well documented for the last year. There is a TSB about it. Call your dealer and have it replaced.
