3.55 vs 4.10 top end

3.55 vs 4.10 top end
I kno that the 4.10's are better for accel than 3.55, and the 3.55 are better for top end.
I was thinking about switching to 4.10's in my car. Mainly due to the fact that all 3 dragstrips within an hour of where i live are 1/8th mile, so thats what i race, and i want a little more "ummphh" in that 1/8th mile.
My concern is, i still drive interstate when i go to work, and even tho my Mach1 isnt my DD, i still drive it to work on occasion. so how much am i gonna sacrafice top end switching from 3.55 to 4.10? Im not worried about gas mileage, i dont drive it as my DD so thats not a big issue. But i dont want to just totaly drop off top end either.
I know there is already a thread about gears, but that thread asked a different question

no DD = 4.30s, the machs have a .62 5th gear, with 4.30s at 80 mph you will be right around 2800 rpms, also, the DOHCs love to rev,
you will loose like 2mpg as well, and if your car actually has the power to pull the car throught 5th gear with 4.30s, your top speed will be 175+ mph still
you dont "sacrifise" top end, shorter gears make the car rev more so you get into your top end power band quicker
at the end of the track, (weather it be 1/8 or quarter) you want to be at the RPMs your car makes peak power at in your 1:1 gear

thanks for the info. I doubt i will go 4.30, probably only 4.10.

the build is on hold right now, but i might have my dd sold soon, so i will have the money to do it. and get me a different dd.
but if i dont come out with the power i want then i might go 4.30

what are you running/going to be running for rear rubber?
what are you running/going to be running for rear rubber?
as of right now. i still run the street tires. I dont want to invest in tires just yet, and have to change them out all the time just to go to the track. or even run them all the time on the street and wear them out quicker.
if i get my car over 400hp, then i might get some tires.
