Default rwhp

i just got my mach 1 on sat. morning. i know a little about the machs but not much. its an 04 so came with 310 hp. i was just wondering what i would be around at the wheels. my gt from what people have said with full bolt ons and no tune i was around 270-280. i have php intake spacer, jlt rai, sct hand held tuner with mail order tune, off road x pipe, flow master weld ins. and i belive that is all. what would i be aorund bc i have no clue what these machs dyno at. i would guess 310-320 at the wheels am i right?

Ehhh probably closer to 300.
Stock is usually 280 rwhp give or take.
But I do know that it takes barely anything to get over the 300 mark.+
Throw a JLT intake on there and you'll be seeing some decent gains, because of the 4v.
4v's LOVE to breath... so let it!

All sounds good but the UDP's.
Alot of people over on the registry fear them.
There known tothrow offyour oil pump, from what I've read.
I'd honestly just try and squeeze out a few horses out of something else, even though UDP's technically don't give you power.
I'd just stay away from them to be safe.

Also, do you have a tuner?
Reason I ask is because if you get that TB, with all the other exhaust/intake mods, your car'll be breathing alot more
than the stock tune can handle.

Just some thoughts and friendly advice! [8D]
Enjoy your Mach though man!

With the mods you have I think you should be running 300 - 305 HP at the wheels. Add a catback and you should be close to 310.

Gears...go with 4.10's or 4.30's.

As Matt posted avoid UDP's.....not worth the risk with stock oil pump gears.

yeah toss the UDP idea id I were you- also i'd say you are around 290rwhp. with Longtubes, o/r x, catback, JLT RAI, and intake spacer my old mach 1 put down 308 / 325 (with a custom dyno tune) so I don't see you being over 300...stranger things have happened though.

The extra 5 HP just means that Ford determined the '03 models were under-rated. The were no mechanical changes made from '03 to '04 to add HP, although the stock tune mave have been tweaked.

The oil pump used in the 4V versus the 2V is the reason for recommending against UDP's, especially on the crank. The drive gears therein are prone to premature failure when a UDP is mounted on the crank...it may be due to harmonics, or may be something else. Regardless, it's your engine, so use them if you so choose.

ya, dont pay too much attention to the ratings from ford. I dynoed around 270hp with stock manifolds, catted h and catback. With everything that you mentioned i would also have to say right around the 300 mark. Of course thats just a guess. It would be best to get it tuned also.

x 2 - there is NO difference in hp between 03 and 04...as a matter of fact many 03s with the ZYA2 PCM code have dynoed the highest stock numbers of machs(possibly slightly more aggressive factory parameters). Also like Baron said don't base any 2V UDP experience on mach 1 oil pumps- they are totally different. If you really want that extra 5-10rwhp be safe and throw on a Meziere electric water pump rather than theUDPs.
