who would win in a race( from dig,roll ) a 2003 mach with 3;73s full suspension, upper,lower control arms, exhaust,intake, 5 speed VS a 2004 wrx STI with a exhaust 6 speed both with good drivers.

 

A roll and the mach would be in pretty good shape. A dig will be close, especialy on the street. He is almost always garanteed a good launch. If the mach has a good launch, it should win.

Is the mach tuned?

 

not yet brand new motor will be tunned and by the time its on the road it should have a sct tunner, coil plugs, Tb

 

The suspension mods on the Mach should help alot with the launch. The Mach woulddefinetly win with some DRs. As is, it should be a good race untilboth cars get going good, then the Mach should start pulling?

 

its really a 97 with a crate mach1 motor in it

 

Are 97 gtslighter than Machs? I know the 98 cobras are heavier.

 

a stock STI is a high 13 sec car. Ive seen Car and Driver and they bested a 13.1 with a stock Mach. So my guess is the Mach will win both

 

with my mods in my sig i raced a sti the other night both from a roll and a dig. 30mph roll so i can get in 1st. the sti had a tune, exhaust, bov, intake, something done to the ic and something else small and i would walk him every time. i raced a evo mr the lightest model with the most power and i was nose to nose with it last night. it was stock tho. and i had my muffs off so i had no low end tq.

 

I have serious traction issues on the street. The Machs are definelty faster cars IF they hook. From a roll, the Mach (your car) should pull pretty hard on the STI, not by 5 cars or anything, but should get away from it. From a roll, if the STI can drive, it'll jump the Mach, and then it'll be catch up time, but the stang should still catch him if not pass. Those suspension mods you have will help alot, might even keep you two fairly even off the line. Let us know the outcome either way.

 

The 97's are lighter by like 150 pounds or so. From a roll it'll do just fine, but from a dig it's tough to call becuase AWD is crazy out of the hole. Good luck though...
