I was wondering how much power the stock mach 1 can hold? the reason i ask is because me and my cousin are modding our cars and we tend to have alittle fueding on whos goin to beat who. I have an 02 GT that im getting a vortech on next week and now he went and bought one for his 04 mach 1. I know im going to lose, but by how much? he went 12.9 on motor alone. Im guessing my GT is going to be low 12's since im doing suspension stuff too. Will his mach be a high 11 second car?

 

A supercharger on a stock mach and a good tune will put out at least 420 wheel horse, he should been in the mid tohigh 11s a gt with a charger should be putting out about 350 to 360 wheel horse depending on supporting mods

 

The Mach can get more gain with less boost too. With both of you going forced induction, both of you will win some and lose some against each other. Those suspension mods will carry you a long way on the track, leaving him behind trying to hook up.

hes got some boltons and hes gettin a snow performance meth kit and so am i....ill be around 400hp to the wheels and he'll be at about 450 with his bolt ons......

 

You two should be a good race. The Mach is going to get you on top-end everytime though. They rev alot higher and with the extra 50hp on his side, he'll pull you up top. But you don't need to be racing past 110mph anyway unless your on a track.

 

I forgot to add something. Is he at 450rwhp or crank hp? Mach drivetrains reach their reliable limit at 450rwhp. So if he is putting that much to the ground, he may either want to leave the meth alone, or upgrade the trans. Not sure how far you can push the motor in real life, but I've heard 450rwhp is about the safe limit on it too.

 

Yea 450 is about the limit on the mach motor due to the high comression , the machs love superchargers though there monsters in the higher rpms

 

What gearing are you both running? if stock his gearing is gonna help along with the extra 50 horses, with your suspension i would just launch it like i stole and hope the mach doesnt make up the ground in time. If he's up to 4:10, that distance will be ate up quickly

i have stock gearing and he has 4.10's. i dont think hes gonna be able to hook for ****
