Default Clutch Comes and Goes...

Just like the title says, it's coming and going. If I drive very conservative, it feels like a brand new clutch. I can press it in about half way and shift fine. Good pressure, etc. As soon as I downshift one time, or shift at a high rpm, especially powershifting, the clutch suddenly becomes very soft and has about 3 inches of free play, meaning I have to put the clutch on the floor to shift. Then after it starts acting up, it will return to normal as quick as it started acting up. What could be going on here?

I don't know man, my 01 GT didn't do it. Downshifting and powershifting seem to trigger it the worst.
Anyone else??

I have never had that problem in either of mine. Maybe your quadrant is going bad. It is self adjusting and maybe some part of the mechanism is bad. I used the steeda kit that had a quadrant and firewall adjuster.

It could be that because I can't get it to readjust bypulling up on the clutch.

Get yourself a Fiore clutch quadrant and firewall adapter. I've heard that one is the best.
