+1 on the $375 deal. (Ask them about calibrating the speedo)

About that install kit, you don't need the whole kit if your husbands car has less than 35k miles or so. All you absolutely have to have is the gears, the gear oil (royal purple), and shims. A set of bearings and a gasket added to that would make it a kit. Make sure you get a speed calibrator ($100 from dallas mustang) or a tuner so his speedometer isn't off after the gear change.

How so brudda? On the long tubes I mean.. I've got SLP long tubes with a cat'd H-pipe and my mach passed the Tejas emissions.. Had it inspected just before I deployed. Or does the tune have something to do with it?

As long as you have at least one cat per pipe and the CEL is off, you're good to go. I don't know about the sniffer deal since they don't do that in NC, but I don't see why two cats would'nt convert the gases to a passable limit. Luckily, my inspecter is nice enough not to look under my car for the "visual" inspection of the cats. He takes my PCM's word for it.

I stand corrected. If you first hand have passed emissions in The Greatest State in the Union (I'm a native) with long tubes and a catted mid-pipe, then as far as I'm concerned that's the proof in the pudding and I retract my suggestion about putting off long tubes because of emissions. Cost-wise, I'm still in the same place. Emissions-wise, I'VE SEEN THE LIGHT!!!

Tune shouldn't matter, I would think.

Ehh, I got there as soon as I could.. lol moved there in 82 from Osaka, Japan where my dad was stationed at the time. Does 25+ yrs count? lol

And the only reason I mentioned the tune, is that the more agressive the tune, the rougher the idle's going to be, especially with a cat'd mid-pipe.. (or rougher SOUNDING anyway, which is still exhaust.. ) Or then again maybe I'm just talking out of the wrong orifice again.. lol

Hey Guys - yes we did the JLT Cold Air Intake - that is already on, and we got the intake spacer from Roy, that's being installed now..and I believe you right about the gears, I called other places and it was around $500 to do, so that's the next step..

When does Dallas Mustang have get togethers in the DFW area - we would love to attend and get more advice on tuning...........

so all in all we have done - Badges, Custom Floor Mats, Tinted Windows, JLT Cold Air Intake, Roy's Intake Spacer, MGW Short Throw Shifter, Chase Lights (these are really cool), Summit Racing Aluminum Driveshaft, and shortly - gears............. what's next - dyno (hand held tuner) time
