05 GTs feel slower because they are much more refined.. I have driven them both often and they should be a good even race.

It's not an even race. As you see their tested 1/4 times, they are a good 1/2 sec(5 car lengths in a race)different in the 1/4 mile with equal drivers. I say get out of debt andget what you can afford. If it's a V6 stang, do it. If it's a mach 1, do it. If it's an oldergt, do it. Good luck!

Did the OP ever decide what to do? I'd say go ahead and get a Mach. It's an awesome car and like they've said, not a dime a dozen at all. They get lots of looks and pretty badass, too! It's alot different than the 05+, maybe not as refined, yeah. But does a Stang have to be refined? Hell no!

The Mach is a great car. I can't imagine ever letting mine go.

Shop around, you can get a very well kept one for a decent price. You can drive it like crazy or just treasure it. It's all good!

I signed up on this site so long ago. I'm looking at my sig wondering that myself! HA! All it has is a K&N FIPK CAI, and a Borla Stinger catback which is still in the box. I must have been having a retarded moment when I made the sig. [sm=dontgetit.gif]Maybe I thought the shiny appearance stuff made it go fast? HAHA! I guess I'm working on it. I have the exhaust ready to install, I think next up is an intake spacer and a tune. My goals are fairly simple. It's going to shows, but probably not the track. It's a nice Stang though. I'll have to work on posting up the pics soon.

Back to topic...get a Mach already! Nothing wrong with the newer Stangs, but if it's a financial burden.
