Default Mach engine

Hey guys, So over the summer (maybe even winter) im looking to switch from my gt to a 03 04 mach and someone told me that the mach has the same engine as a cobra just not blown, is that true? I know it was a 4v but i didnt know if it had the internals and all to go with it. I got excited when i heard this because the first thing id do it then is put a blower on it. And also from my sig what parts could i keep that would fit on the new car?

the mach only has a forged crank and thats only in the 5speed. the cobra is fully forged, and has different cams and valvs also.

The cat-back and gearswill fit, not sure about the mid-pipe or anything else. Good choice on upgrading to the mach! Lots of potential with it. More potential than the S197 GT's and lots ofother cars too.

They have the same limitations as the GT. Unfortunately, we have the same cast connecting rods, etc, as well as the same 3650 trans, which also has its safe limitations.

JMO, but if I were you, I would do an 03/04 Cobra Swap instead. If you are planning on buying a new Mach engine, just know that the Cobra engine costs about the same. In other words, you can get a new turn-key S/C Cobra engine for close to the same price as a N/A Non-forged Mach engine. You would need to swap the trans to be safe with the Cobra if you go above stock settings though.

Mach's have the same limit as the GT's like everyone said, but if you are simply looking into bolt ons or an N/A build then the Mach will be much better. The Mach in stock form is more powerful than a full bolt on GT. If you are looking for gobs of power (450+) then look into the Termi's.

A Mach with your mods carried over is in the 12s already. Wouldn't boost it w/ the Mach's compression ratio of 10:1 (versus Cobras 8.5:1) unless you forge the internals. Could just buy a Mach and a shot of the juice. Just as fast, but safer, and a hell of alot cheaper. Decisions, decisions.

So are you buying the engine or a whole car?
