Default Diablo "Modify Parameters"

Hey guys and gals. Wondering if this struck anyone else odd. I was successful in turning my O2 sensors off with my Diablo today, but noticed differences betweenwhat the booklet says the tuner can do under "Modify Parameters", and what the tuneractually brings up on the screen.
Under OBD II, the bookletlists.....EGR Switch, O2 Sensor Config.,OBD II MIL, OBD II Test, Heaterbank 1 downstream, Heater bank 2 downstream......My tuner does NOT mention O2 Sensor Config., and both Heater banks. Also, I'd like to turn the Traction Control off, which the booklet says is after "Tire Size". Neither that or "Traction" comes up on my tuner.
Already advanced the spark all the way to the right, which I think equates to 12% on a Predator, anyone thinkI should richen up the A/F, given my mods?

As always, any help is gr8ly asphixiated.

Where did you order the tuner from?
I have an SCT but have the same issue as you.

I believe it's the one who makes the tunes that controls whether you have partial or full parameter modifications. I can barely do anything with my SCT but I'm guessing that maybe it's because Texas Hot Rods did a more custom "can" tune.

Who knows... I feel like I don't even make sense right now so I'm going to stop haha

got it from americanmuscle.com. Pleased with it, but just like to turn the damn t.c. off so I don't have to worry about forgetting to turn it off whenever I make a pass at the track. Axle ratio is the biggie, but still makes me wonder why the hell things aren't more cut and dry with these things. Kinda wish I got a SCT actually. Anytime I ask someone about the A/F ratio adjustment which is kind of generic on a Diablo, they tell me to get it dyno tuned. I ain't giving someone a couple hundred bucks for a couple more hp!

I would really looking into a Sniper tuner or whatever it's called.
I have heard nothing but, not good things, but AMAZING things about that product.

Of course it costs a pretty penny though

Well you need a wideband o2 controller and some kinda data logger to get your a/f correct. For tire size I have changed mine but axle ratio I believe is a issue that Diablosport is addressing in there next update (which hasnt happened for a long time now) but register on there forums and they will write you a tune to correct your axle ratio. I am not exactly sure if it is only on the Performance tune or factory modified tune or both which that issue they are addressing. I have to say I like my Predator even though it has short commings that are being addressed. Like you my timing is all the way 10% but I also use 94 ultra gas and have adjusted my wot a/f where it is in my sig.

Shaken, thanks. Couple questions for ya. You thank it be wise enough for me to set my A/F like yours? Already have JLT RAI, you think the Accufab is worth the $?

Well the cai seems to make our cars run a little rich. The straight up Predator tune should be fine. I think it was 12.2 -12.5 which is safe. Having the wideband I am able to squeeze that little extra out and know that I am not going to lean out. I also used the screen with my K&N cai my car would stall in the most dangerous times. The Accufab I bought I paid $230 used with 100 miles on it. The guy went with the eaton swap my gain and yes I don think it added any power but it does free rev better and shifting at low speeds is better and it just looks better.

Groundpounder will vouch for this about me...start talkin' bout wideband this and data log that, that's when I'll call it quits and settle with 6 less hp. Thanks for the feedback, it is well appreciated.

Yeah but that is the next step in modding to get that extra out. The other way to check is the old fashion way, run it hard and pull a spark plug and check the color. Data loggin timing is important if you plan on adding timing to the performance tune and make sure you use higher octane then 93 if you do. The tune is for 93 octance. I bought my wideband setup so I could adjust it and not have to take it to a dyno shop to have it tuned. You can set one up with just a lc1 from Innovate Motorsports and a laptop along with your Predator. You will need 2 seperate cables one for your Predator and the other for the lc1 and you should be able to pick all your PID's from your Predator along with your a/f readings and see them toghter on your laptop. Put them in graph form and all kinds of neat stuff. This came out after I had already tuned my car and I havent bought the extra cable for my laptop which doesnt have serial just usb so I have to use a db9 to usb cable. Which I bought at best buy and there 35 bucks I am saving my cash for other purchases like lca's and maybe adjustable uca's to try to get the car to plant the tires better. Th e lc1 is like 174 dollars and comes with everything. I bought a package from moats http://www.moates.net/product_info.p...roducts_id=134 which is hard to read in day light but it has a data log up to 2 minutes at 4 samples a sec or 20 seconds at 60 samples a sec if I remember.

Ryan, I know you'e not going to like this, but you're moving into an area where you either need to
a) get a wideband and school thyself on the things that shaken's talking about
or
b) seek professional help.

My personal experience with dyno tuners is that they're worth the money. If you have a good one (like I did at IDC), you bring them the modded car and a handheld and they'll have it to a gnat's eyebrow within an hour. IDC charges $110 per hour. If you were my next door neighbor, I'd tell you that would be the smartest $110 that you would spend on the car and truck over there with you.
